Hello everyone! Everything has been so hectic, since the FREE DOWNLOAD of singles from the album will happen soon. I want to use this blog to express my feelings and continue a two way communication with my fans. It'll be great to post new ideas, music that I like, pictures clothing, etc, and anything that makes my life with music going. Stebani Cruz Defies Ageism With Anthem Song

Stebani Cruz wrote “Cougar in the House” as an anthem of older women asserting their sensuality without the boundaries of age. Demi Moore and Madonna are examples of women in their prime who love who they want despite age differences. Cruz feels that a cougar is a woman who follows her own heart no matter what society says. A cougar woman is intelligent, confident, self-sufficient, active, passionate and above all classy which makes her very sexy and attractive to any man including some that are younger. Cougar is a tribute to all those women out there who happen to share their lives with younger men and don’t care what society thinks.

Singer Stebani Cruz Announces to The World "Mi Gusta Asi"

Latin Pop/Reggaeton Artist Stebani Cruz aka “La Boricuba” is digitally releasing her spirited, new debut album, “Me Gusta Asi” (“I Like It Like That”) on iTunes and on the singer’s website www.LaBoricuba.com on Tuesday, October 11th, following up her sassy single, “Cougar in the House,” first released in 2009. The eclectic album features a mix of original Latin Pop ballads and musica urbana written and performed by the Brooklyn born Cruz who is half Cuban and half Puerto Rican. Indie dance favorite, “Cougar in the House,” a fun anthem celebrating the women who date younger men, kicks off the album and ends it with a new remix of the song.

The hard beats of Reggaeton in songs such as “Me Gusta Asi” (“I Like It Like That”), which is the first single to be released off the new album, is counterbalanced by pop infused songs of female empowerment such as “Fuiste Tu” (“It Was You”).

Many of the lyrics were written by Cruz when she was recovering from a life-threatening brain ailment she contracted in 2006. “It took me four years to recover,” Cruz said. “I lost my memory and the doctors told me that the brain is a muscle and I had to exercise it to rebuild my memory. The brain is such an amazing organ and whatever is in the subconscious will come out when the brain is traumatized. So I started writing poetry and lyrics and I started hearing melodies in my head.”

This self-made musical therapy has now emerged as Cruz’s first album and it’s first single, “Me Gusta Asi.” To inaugurate the launch of the new album, Cruz’s fans will be able to get a pre-released, FREE download of singles off the album from September 20th through October 10th through the her website www.LaBoricuba.com and on MySpace at www.myspace.com\laboricuba. Afterwards, on Tuesday, October 11th , the single and the album will officially be sold digitally on iTunes for 99 cents for the single, “Me Gusta Asi” and for $7.99 for the album.

The album was produced by Cruz. The original single and then remix of “Cougar in the House” was produced by Reggaeton mega-producer Nely “El Arma Secreta,” known for his work with Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Snoop Dogg and more.
